Cape Epic 2023 - Into the unknown
Location: Western Cape, South Africa
Days: 8 days
Distance: 658kms
Climbing: 15,775m
Date: 19-26 March 2023
The Cape Epic is widely known as the Tour de France of the Mountain Bike world. It is the pinnacle of off-road stage racing, however it is designed to test body, mind, bike and bike wear. Thankfully temperatures come off there +30 degree highs and should average aorund 25 degrees during the eight days. The race must be completed by both members of a two-person team with only 680 teams allowed to ride the race each year.
For the event team Silversky will reunite Ross and Jason from two previous Pioneer stage races, they'll be wearing the NZ Silversky branded gear and posting updates and video blogs of the type 2 fun along the way. They won't be competing at the front of the race amongst the many professionals who use this as mere pre-season training, so you'll get a real life account of this epic adventure.
Stayed tuned for updates. First team ride mid-November and building into the event in March 2023.
